Quite a day..took my 5 year old up in Cherokee for his first light aircraft experience, called in at the cinema on the way home to see Planes (fun, but not for the rivet counters) and strike me blind if I didn’t see a Hunter perched on top of a building on the A40 into London just past Northolt. My lad had already spotted the Spitfire at Northolt so nearly fell off his seat when he espied the Hunter. The building in question is famous for having all sorts of stuff on the roof (Snowman, Big Ben, Christmas Tree etc) and I seem to remember as a kid I did see an a/c up there before…but this Hunter must be quite recent. Anyone got any more information?
Cheers

Thanks…that drive has now got a bit more interesting…it will be the only time in London that I actually want to get stuck in a traffic jam

I think this is the vanguard storage company. There used to be a hunter up there years ago? maybe it’s the same one and they have put it back up!

It’s “State Express” F.1 WT555, owned by Vanguard Haulage (who also own the building,) and it’s been up there before. They also have a Vampire T.11 XK632, and Lightning F.3 XP745 stored (possibly inside the building.)
