Hawker Hurricane cockpit canopy variants help

Hi

Would anyone know if the Hawker Hurricane had a standard canopy for all types of variants? or was there different designs? to be honest they look pretty similar to be me, but maybe someone can clear his up as there seems little or no information on the net.

Is it also true that that there are markings on one of the perspex panels showing where the canopy would of been manufactured etc.

Any help as always would be very much appreciated.

The Iranians sort of put a Malcolm hood on a Hurricane.

I’ve sometimes wondered why the Hurricane never got a Malcolm hood.  Was is just because the cockpit was a bit wider?  A Malcolm would still have given better rearward view.

Just looking into this a little further via the net, it appears that the later canopy has a jettison sliding type mechanism to the front of the canopy just above the escape perspex panel, i guess this would be a later mark, so would the earlier for example the Mk1 not have this mechanism? thus the canopy jettison (lever) would  be within the cockpit itself, i hope that this makes some kind of sense.

Thank you for your reply Trolley Aux, i have to say that they do look pretty much the same across the variants, interesting in regards to the jettison/release section of the canopy, would anyone have any images of this part of the canopy? ive seen them on the Spitfire but as yet not on the Hurricane, would this have anything to do with the escape panel (perspex) at the front of the canopy itself?

I thought these were a pretty standard item with no tweaks apart from a release or jettison which early marks did not have.

the canopy will possibly have HA GS or CCF stamp on metalwork
