The what and where is well known, but until I was going through my files I’d forgotten I’d taken this shot.

It is Hawker Fury G-BTTA when in the ownership of the Hanna’s Old Flying Machine Co, and when painted in Iraqi Air Force colours – but on this occasion, those colours have been modified by the addition of RAF roundels and fin flash. But why, when and for how long?
Over to the readership.

Was it to represent Tempest PR772? Can’t remember how long it was in those colours but was repainted in the navy colours by the summer.

I saw this aircraft at Duxford in 1999 IIRC in RN paint.
I think I´ve seen reference to this paint scheme in the 1995-96 period. But I might be talking bu*l S*it, and come to think of it, it is more likely than not!
