I have a shell chute that has a Hawker looking part number on it.
C176197 Z ISAB117994. Part was made by Armstrong Whitworth and has an AW inspectors stamp.
The C176197 is very like a Hawker part number! It si also too big for 303 and I assume 20mm cannon chute. It is grey green painted steel.
I cant find it in the parts list for Sea Hawk, Hurricane or F6 Hunter. But the chutes have simialr numbering in these aircraft. So possibly post Hurricane and pre Hunter F6. Which leaves early Hunters and Typhoon/Tempest Sea Fury

Thank you Sir. A second one with part number S00299 I identified as Vampire from the 00 part number sequence – again in Airframes section.

The combination of Hawker and AW allowed me to narrow it down- It is a spent link chute from a Sea Hawk. It was in the airframe section rather than the armament section.
