Saw this on ebay and thought some of you might be interested in making a bid.It’s the cockpit canopy from a Tempest Mk.V which crash landed nr.Bishops Stortford in 1944.Auction closes in 7 days time…

Compare the ebay-canopy with this, for sure, Tempest canopy (Hendons NV778). Quite a difference…

So the pilot was killed in the crash according to the seller’s write up.
Surely the cannopy would have at least cracked if not smashed in such a fatal crash???

Let me put it another way Ant – look at a Tempest picture and compare the construction and the way the canopy is faired in

I think you might find that this looks suspiciously like a Hawker Hunter canopy so beware unless you specifically want one.
