Hawker Tempest V drop tank pylons

Hi All,

Having recently obtained one of the new Airfix Tempest V model kits, notice that they have moulded the drop tanks in clear plastic.  Speaking with others in my local model club, consensus seems to be that the pylons were indeed clear and not solid.  Can any erudite member of the forum explain if this is actually the case and for what reason they were (or, were not) clear?

Thanks in advance,

GYD

Thanks to all, that certainly ‘clears’ that one up!

Is it the case that the “pylons” were just struts with not much structure to them? Difficult to model in soft plastic.
