Hawkinge 1930's

This photo was taken between 1929 and 1932 at RAF Hawkinge, my father is a Rigger on the right, could any of you guys recognise the aircraft and possibly say which squadrons operated from there then, thank you in advance.

That looks like one of the Hawker Hart family – might be awkward to pin down as there were so many!

Adrian

Thanks for your answers, my father often remarked about the Hawker Hart/Hind (?) which I knew he worked on. He used to have many photos but I guess they have gone their separate ways, pity really, but at least I still have some memories of his time in the RAF.

Agreed on both. The Hart type has the long exhausts and “normal” tyres rather than Hardy type balloons which will help narrow it down a bit. Maybe a Demon as Hawkinge was a Fighter station or an Audax?

With respect to your original question, my guess would be a 25 Sqn Siskin 111 variant

I was about to say that it could also be an Atlas but looking at the undercarriage I think you may be correct with the Siskin.
