Thanks for your answers, my father often remarked about the Hawker Hart/Hind (?) which I knew he worked on. He used to have many photos but I guess they have gone their separate ways, pity really, but at least I still have some memories of his time in the RAF.

Agreed on both. The Hart type has the long exhausts and “normal” tyres rather than Hardy type balloons which will help narrow it down a bit. Maybe a Demon as Hawkinge was a Fighter station or an Audax?

I was about to say that it could also be an Atlas but looking at the undercarriage I think you may be correct with the Siskin.
