i read on http://www.preservedaxisaircraft.com/ that He 111P-2 5883 is going to be restored to flying condition. The aircraft is currently in Austria.
“The excellent magazine Flugzeug Classic reports (with several good photos) in the latest issue that the CASA 2.111 W.Nr. 150 is to be restored to airworthiness with original Jumo 211 engines. So hopefully we will be able to see this type back in the air again, after the tragicall loss of CASA 2.111F W.Nr. 118. “

Hi Daz,
The article in Aeroplane stated that it was a CASA built example, but a very early one fitted with German-built engines. Not sure how complete the aircraft is or was,but i’ve not heard anything of it since.

A touch off-topic this, but wasn’t there a complete Heinkel found somewhere in Spain fairly recently?? And I don’t mean a CASA-built one, either!

Im not sure if it will be restored fully to a h111 p version. It will be a composite rebuild with alot of CASA parts.
i think this is a pic of the aircraft. I am excited bout this! it will be great to see a formation of a heinkel – me109- fw190 d-9!

Hmmm, interesting stuff.I’d heard something about this a few months back-anything to do with that Paul Allen bought from Aces High at NW,or is this a seperate project? If it’s being restored to He111P standard then shouldn’t it have DB601’s as opposed to the Jumo’s?
