Head of Childrens services sacking

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/8639496.stm

The lady responsible for child services during the “Baby P” case has lost her claim for unfair dismissal. I don’t think for one moment she was responsible for this heart breaking case as an individual, but she was paid to head the service, was salaried on bonused on targets, so should also pay a price for failure. I don’t mind admitting at all that when the documentary about this was on TV, I sat there with tears in my eyes at what this poor boy suffered in his short life.

I hope that other social workers and doctors involved face similar professional judgement.

Good. If I’m wrong and there is an afterlife I hope she gets her just desserts there too.

Well exactly. She has rightly lost her job but nothing will be any compensation for the boy’s life. A tragic story, certainly, but an appalling story as well.
