Although I could have gone to Flying Legends show on 11/07/20154 I though Headcorn was a no brainer
Having been to Headcorn over the last few years during March and April, there has always been some activity but with a fully blown air show at such a pretty location with good light made it a must see show for me at such a relaxing location
The light did however get a bit dodgy near 7pm with the shadows of the sun going down the runway from the left rather than from behind but no matter it was still fairly good when shooting to the right
It was also evident that some people were confused as to when he flying was going to start which was not helped by the lack of information from the commentary.
I was also surprised that the BBMF did not take off again as I did not think the crosswind was that bad. Whilst I am no expert the, privately owned Spits had no issues with the side wind.

We had tickets to the VIP area (via Groupon!) but, because of mobility problems, didn’t visit the hangar area to “fire a gun” or “view the Spit cockpit”. The crowds weren’t too bad and an old RT London bus was provided to ferry visitors from the spectators’ area to the other, hangar end of the airfield. Plenty of 40s music to hear over the loudspeakers but it mixed badly with the live singers who sang as the “Andrews Sisters” from the back of an old lorry and confused things somewhat. The exit from the car parks was easy but the queue to the main road was diabolical so, as we live locally, we were able to take the back lanes away from the airfield.
