The arrival of spring means it must be Headcorn season! One of my favourite airfields to visit, particularly at this time of year, Headcorn has excellent viewing areas with a wonderful Kentish backdrop. I’ve made four visits so far this year and plan to update this thread as and when I visit during the next few months.
Headcorn is home to the Tiger Club, who maintain and operate a number of vintage aircraft, including Stampes, Tiger Moths, Jungmanns, Midget Mustangs and Piper Cubs, amongst others. If the conditions are right, they often fly late into the evening, sometimes culminating a Sunday’s flying with a ‘balbo’ of based aircraft formating over the airfield for several passes.

Indeed, I was there! Albeit without a camera. What a day that was – warbird movements sporadically all day long. Just brilliant! Maurice Hammond’s Harvard dropped in too, if I remember correctly.
Here’s hoping for some meaty warbird visitors this weekend. 😀

You picked a good day, nice shots. Headcorn is a nice little airfield especially when there are real Mustangs on the field, last year on one occasion Maurice Hammond and Rob Davies had their Mustangs along with Peter Teichman in his Spitfire.

Superb timing on the TB9/10 shot. Not sure which it is as I’m not up to speed on the differences between the two. As far as I’m concerned fixed u/c gets the designation I just used and disappearing legs are TB20’s. I know, I’ve got no taste at all have I?
