RE: Headed up to LHR.
What was with the second runway being closed last monday?
We had to cirle around for half an hour while i got to take some arse shots of a virgin 747 on the same course..
LHR doesn’t suit London very well.. seen smaller airports in better looking shape in the middle of nowhere..
Cheers

RE: T5 ON THE GROW
Its good thats things are finally moving along, the terminal has been on the drawing board for years, lets hope the new runway idea gets along a bit quicker!

T5 ON THE GROW
When I went up to LHR on Sunday I couldn’t help noticing the size of the area of land that T5 is to be built on. Work has start already and its gonna big one hell of a big terminal, and I not sure but I think work has begun to start on this new runway idea, a patch of land towards the north of the nortern perimeter has been cleared.

RE: A great day spotting wise.
You may be right, was basing my comment on what I saw in the past, didn’t see one last time I went and time before was back in July last year so it probably has changed by now!

T5 – Talking about beaches and blue sky is making me feel bad, I haven’t see a beach (or the sun) since May!
Saab – THY use the A310 mostly on the LHR route I think.

RE: A great day spotting wise.
Im just glad that the weather held out as long as it did. I left my house, (a little later than scheduled, 11:30am) and it was chucking it down with rain, but, I took the chance anyhow. Got there at 1 and the weather was sunny and bright. 🙂
Another nice sight to see was G-BPEK, The BA 757 with the poppy on the side.
As for the number crunching side of it, I saw loads today that I hadn’t seen before.
So overall a good day, I’ll shut up now!!! 😛

Air Jamaica’s A340s are a fantasic site and seeing them up close in their home land was also nice to see. The bright colour scheme looks good on the blue sky and beach backdrop… 🙂
Glad you had a good day Andrew!

RE: A great day spotting wise.
Air Jamaica A340 is always nice to see, I think its daily so should see it all the time now and we can get them at MAN as well.
Shame you didn’t see the BWIA A340, that looks different.

RE: A great day spotting wise.
Yes this I know but usually when I visit LHR, there doesn’t seem to be this much of a variation, and there seemed to be so many flights operated by 747’s too.
The Air Jamaica one supprised me a little, as I didn’t expect it at all, but I was well glad to see it. 🙂

RE: Headed up to LHR.
I would have come up and joined you except there are two factors which prevent me doing so:
1. I am skint, waiting for payday!
2. I would need more notice as I usually work a Sunday.
