Didn’t see the programme but I remember him from the early post-war years and I’m sure he displayed at Farnborough once or twice,. He’s in my old list of 1950s display pilots I kept as a youngster.
And I think you’ll discover, as he did , that John is not related to Cody, as he thought.

the Kate Humble episode was really good,I didn’t know anything about Bill Humble before,I don’t know how he slipped through the Radar, as you say fascinating stuff,

As an aside, Yesterday just ran the Kate Humble episode that featured her two aircrew Grandfathers.
Bill Humble a test pilot for Hawker and her maternal Grandfather who was an officer a/g who ended up in Sagan at the time of the Great Escape and then took part in the long march.
Fascinating stuff and she is a very attractive lady too. 🙂
