Is she the lady who used to fly a PT-22 at Old Warden?
Regards
I do believe she is 🙂

Thanks Blue Max, I had the mistaken impression that she was on her own…the Pipistrelle guy really did go entirely on his own.

Just watched it on catch up. I thoroughly enjoyed it, what a lovely lady.

Yes not s bad programme but let down by the fact that it was not what it was billed. Just her and a compact videocamera – now that would have been a programme!!

Isn’t that the point!!
Shame the prog didn’t make more of the team effort rather than trying to make out she was flying alone through Africa.
That’s the funny thing about ‘reality’ television- the reality is the first thing to stripped out in the final edit.

Modern light aircraft and smaller film kit can achieve even longer flights with less problems http://www.pipistrel.si/extras/extreme-flights/matevz-lenarcic-flew-around-the-world-and-set-a-world-record
She really struggled on that Stearman flight and took on big challenge which at times was not safe and could only be attempted by use of the push on regardless attitude. I admire her bravery and feel that her almost fatalistic view is not a good example for how to assess risks but YMMV.

However what didn’t come across in the program was that she wasn’t on her own, she had someone in the front cockpit, clear seen in many shots, and she also had a huge pack up team including a Cessna Caravan flying alongside her all the way.

I met Tracey last year when she came to have a look at the comet projects, she is a very nice lady and has a great ‘can do’ attitude. I believe she is planning to try and emulate Amy Johnsons flight to Australia next.
She has a web site www.birdinabiplane.com

Thanks for the heads up, jeepman, I would probably have missed it if you hadn’t posted.
