Hello everyone.
You know those Corgi 1/72nd scale die-cast budget aeroplanes? There are 16 in the series and they normally sell for around £10.99 @ RAF Museum, etc.
Well, Home Bargains are selling them for only £2.99. In Hull I can get the Spitfire, Me109 and Stuka. Not sure if they sell the others in the series, Been to two branches in Hull.
Excellent Value and great models. Only wish they stocked more of the range. I’ve emailed Home Bargains for more info. To find your nearest branch, check out: http://www.homebargains.co.uk/
Best Wishes

Last few models are available from City Centre in Hull – Spitfire MKIX, Hurricane, Lightning (P38) and Zero. I’m not on commission, the problem is that the manager can’t order anymore until his current stock is sold. I’m still missing a P51D and P47. It would also be good to get the Corsair. The problem is that the boxes are mixed, so not sure what else remains in the warehouse.

Corgi Home bargains
Hello
After the Whitwick aero mart went into Coalville and its Home bargains store. Its in a open shopping area.
At the back of the store for £2.99 were 4 different series 2 planes. The Thunderbolt,Corsair,Me262 and a couple of the Typhoon.

They are back. Home Bargains have restocked with the Corgi Warbirds Series 2. The problem is that they don’t evenly split the models between stores. While one store might only stock the Me262, another will only stock the FW190. Bought seven – only nine more to go. Only real problem is that the Special Offer (buy all 16 and get a FREE model worth £149.99) is now been and gone. The deadline was March 31st. Then again, at £2.99, they are a Bargain.

Colours??? Is that all? Look at the panel lines, if they were to scale you could grow spuds in those. If this was a plastic scale model a self respecting modeller would bin it.

Following a telephone call today, my local “Home Bargains” store advised me that they have 6 of the range in stock – Spitfire Va, Me109E, Ju87, P-40, Fw190A and Hurricane. They couldn’t tell me if they would be getting any further batches, or any different models, but suggested I keep checking at the store.
At £2.99 they are indeed a bargain, but looking at the quality of the paintwork, they appear to be “seconds”; indeed, the markings on both the Ju87 and the P-40 weren’t perfect, and the 2 Hurricanes that the store had were both missing their tailwheels.
Still, for less than 3 squid, you can’t go wrong… 😀

They are from Series 2. The Spitfire is DB Douglas Bader’s machine. And yes the colour is slightly off, but £2.99 – BARGAIN.

I think that’s a good reason for me to be taking a trip to Northampton as it’s only 45 minutes or so from home.
