A successful day in Somerset has turned up a very promising Whitley crash site. There is considerable local interest in recovering the remains and commemorating the single fatality. The deep seeking detector has two off the clock readings fifteen feet apart and there is a noticable depression in the swampy field. If the landowner (the Church) is amenable it should yield some useful parts. The farmer is already planning to buy a digger! Should be some bits for Weston Zoyland as well.

Hi Ian
Thanks very much for the note – pm sent 😉
Maybe I should put a temporary hold on these engine bearers then. If I make a set now you can guarantee a better set will be unearthed at the dig!
But seriously, I hope it is a success.
