[QUOTE=N.Wotherspoon;1353383]Also see MORE 4 on Saturday morning 24.01.09 at 9:30am:
On 29 November 1944, two Douglas A26 Invader American bombers crashed in Warton Marsh, near Preston. The planes had just left Warton Airbase but only one minute off the runway and 1,000 feet in the air, the aircraft collided and crashed to the ground. Time Team enlists a veteran crash investigator, the RAF’s crash-and-burn team and other experts to solve the mystery of the tragedy.
Bit of a cheek – We have been relegated to “other experts”! That’s gratitude for you, after we set the whole thing up for them![/QUOTE
Finally seen it ! definately worth the wait, I reckon it’s the best of all the aircraft ones done so far. I felt a tinge of sadness when I saw those pristine .50 cals falling into the hands of the EOD.
How did the recovered tail fair after cleaning up etc any pics of it

The episode will probably be around for a while as it’s on 4OD as well.

And its not good calling them the crash and burn team either. Reminds me of the footage of Attenburgh doing his wildlife meeting with Gorillas. No credit to all the team who set up the encounter and no hint that he was in aircon accom while the rest just had the usual tents.
Never mind we know who does all the hard work in reality..the people like Nick.

This one and the Reedham Marshes B17 dig are on endlessly on satellite channels to the point I would say they must have been shown more than Only Fools and Horses on BBC.

I believe that the pilots name was Paul Klipsch & his aircraft crashed in Northern France in 1940,,
Its been a while since I saw this but I remember it being quite good, it will give me a chance to record it to DVD to replace my ropey VHS copy.
