Heathrow 15/04/06

Hello,
Went to Heathrow Friday stayed over night thought i’d share a few pics 🙂 The first two were taken on the 14/04/06. All the photos were taken through a tinted window so they arn’t as good as I would have liked them to be.

Hi, I was at LHR yesterday evening and they were landing on 09L, no good i would imagine during the day if sunny.

Just wondered if anyone has ever considered parking the the “Business” car parks that run along the perimiter fence up the side of 09L?

Can you park there? And if so stay all day with your car and get some great shots…….you need to be a bit flush with the parking but £21.95 does not seem to bad for 24 hours, if they let you do it?

If you want to upload photos first register with a site such as www.photobucket.com. Then upload your photos to there, and copy and paste the [IMG] tag into a post. Hope this is of use, Phil.

I always find the trick (more often than not!) is to head round to the fence near the hotels after 1500 when they switch runways…I cant remember the last time I was spotting at LHR and they weren’t using this runway for TOs…. Must be luck! LOL..

I thought as much hotelwise….

did you not nip down to the fence ? You can get shots like these(if you like close ups) from there..

You never get moved from the Visitors Centre (closing down soon too!), as you are miles away from any aircraft! LOL! IMHO that is one of the worst spots at LHR..

A guide by Danny Hill can be found here (area 2 is closed and not accessible tho) – http://www.plane-mad.com/guide_view.php?guide=lhr

And the soopa doopa Spotters Wiki here – http://www.spotterswiki.com/index.php?title=London_Heathrow_Airport_%28LHR/EGLL%29

nice shots nick a question for you whats it like to spot at egll and do you get moved on a lot and also is there a spotters site for heathrow

thanks

peter

There is a visitors centre on the North Perimeter Road where loads of spotters…..spot, but you don’t get moved from there at all. There is other places but i’m not to sure on directions to there.

Nice shots. You know for that first Emirates one, how do you get that background effect?

300mm lense, and set the shutter speed to 320.
