hello all
As you may know, i visited heathrow a few days ago – yesterday, we went again! Twice in one week – doing well i think!
Arrived before midday to find that operations were on 27, but the other way around – landings were on 27L, departures 27R. So, we headed along the road adjacent to the southern perimeter road – an access road to T4.
Stayed there for a while, plenty of police cars were passing, not taking a blind bit of notice.
We then moved to 27R to get line up shots through the fence. Didnt know that when the rwy ops were this way around, they still swop at 3pm. So, stayed at 27R after 3 to get arrivals shots. Then at about 4 we headed to the T1,2,3. The underground between Hatton X and the terminals was closed, so a double decker bus ride it was. And what a great view from the top of the bus! 🙂
We headed to the multi storey car parks where we managed to get atleast a couple of hours worth of shots – not once were we confronted or asked to move by anyone. We used two car parks – a short stay by T2, and the T3 car park. Didnt go right to the top but stayed one level below.
We headed into the terminals for a bite to eat and seat, and then headed back to the car parks until around 7 when we left.
The day of viewing ended when we were on the bus back to Hatton Cross – a CSA Airlines 737 didnt get off 27R in time, so we were treated to the sight and sound of the crew of a Sri Lankan A340 on short finals throwing on full power and climbing out to complete a go-around.
Eventually got home at 20 to 1 after being trapped on a train in the middle of nowhere for 3 hours. Thats no joke – got onboard at Liverpool Street at about 9:20. Didnt get into Colchester Station until 12:25. the train journey should have taken no more than 70 minutes. lol. rant over. 😀

Excellent work Adam! Sadly whenever I fly through LHR I never have time to give my camera a bit of exercise. I need to arrange a day down there!

Excellent work Adam! Especially like that shot of the aircraft I was on last Wednesday (G-MIDV). Seems to be always LBA based these days!
