Hi
can anyone please reccomend a Hotel room at Heathrow that gives a good view of the action. I have stayed at the holiday inn along the Sipson Road before but the views were patchy at best despite me asking for a top floor room. The big drawback here though is the high carparking charges (I need a carpark as my wife is a wheelchair user).
I have tried the renaissance as advertised on the Airliners.Net homepage but the offer expired at the end of 2007.
Thanks
Steve

I can personally recommend the Premier Travel Inn on Bath Road.
Not only is it a good ‘value for money’ hotel you can also get the following photographs from the hotel’s car park

With the bonus of having no worry that you will get moved on.
Awesome.

The future Mrs ZHR is there at the moment for a training course and she mentioned that they were doing a spotter’s package. She didn’t invite me there overnight in case I spent more time looking at planes rather than her…

Good stuff,i found the price a bit steep if your were not staying for the spotting, but if you are then it’s worth every penny, the novelty of a CX 744 lashing past your window at 5.30am will never get old!
The hotel rooms themselves are a bit on the worn side, beds are very good, the breakfast is very good too.

The Renaissance is the only choice really, look at this and you will see why:

I stayed on the spotter offer, but when i was checking in,everybody was asked if they preferred a room overlooking the airport,so ring them up and ask,the staff were all very friendly, except for the ones in the restaurant…..
