As always, lovely shots Robert. I flew on that A300 from CDG to Heathrow many moons back.

Robert, thanks for posting those images that bring back such wonderful memories of that LHR roof terrace. What a selection of types and liveries that I guess we thought would always be around! Needless to say my favourite is that IL62 but they are all a treat to see. As I lived nearly 100 miles away I could only award myself 2 days every summer to visit LHR, and like those wonderful aircraft and that terrace they are no more. Very many thanks.

Seeing the the Biman 707 outside the PanAm hangar brought back some happy memories of overnight engine changes in that hangar, usually for Biman & at least once Kenya A/W.

Cheers everyone for the kind comments, I periodically go through my slide and negative box and scan stuff, sometimes its stuff I’ve scanned before but the real work is editing the pics, my negs are in a right state belive me, slides arent too bad just a bit dust normally, will upload more soon, once again “thanks”

And for those with no camera you could collect superb monochromes from Aviation Photo News, they sold prints direct and were of excellent value and quality.

“Electric pictures” are a technological mavel but in my opinion they just do not convey “atmosphere” in the same way as “silver pictures”, be they slides or prints. Love seeing what other folk have taken and have been able to keep.

why couldnt digital been invented in the 70’s !!
