I am staggered that Varig is the only South American carrier to operate into LHR. Why did Avianca and Aerolineas Argentinas stop their LHR flights? Surely these could be re-launched. Also Viasa used to serve Caracas from LHR, now no more.
I also think LanChile could serve Santiago and AeroMexico could certainly make a go of Mexico City seen as BA flights are frequently full.

No problem – I’ve been on the receiving end of Mexicans who insist that they don’t live in South America or even Latin America on more than one occasion!

Thank you Pablo. My locational geography is not that bad, I refered to Mexico as it is often grouped with the other Latin American countries!

Also, don’t forget BA’s stakeholding and links with Iberia which is seen as the best European airline to Latin America

Aerolineas Argentinas technically do still fly to London. They have an MD88 based in Madrid which offers services from Paris and Gatwick connecting with the service to Buenos Aires. Lan code shares with BA for connections at Madrid (OneWorld Alliance).
Also, Mexico is in North America, not South America.

LanChile does not exist anymore. The whole bunch of LanXXX airlines recently almalgamated into one “LAN” airline.
