Heathrow Viewing

Does anyone know if the spectator’s viewing terrace on Heathrow’s Terminal 2 has reopened. On the Heathrow Parking website, I found this:
Heathrow Spectator Viewing Facilities
Visitors can watch Heathrow airport activity from the roof of Terminal 2, admission is free. Refreshments are available from a cafeteria. This area is not easily accessible to people with mobility problems. For further information telephone + 44 (0)20 8745 5259.

 Just wondered if BAA have finally come to their senses, or if this is old information.

After making some enquiries it looks like LGW will stay that way. I honestly dont think BAA will open up either of these viewing areas in the forseeable future……..but I hope Im wrong.

Here’s what spectators have to put up qith at the moment at LGW.(These were taken this morning)

Thanks for sharing this dismal scene with us Dave. This is a BAA disaster for spotters! Oh well, back to standing on the approach, I suppose?

EAL, I think Albert’s point was that he’s in work, and shouldn’t be online just now, and certainly shouldn’t be making phonecalls to BAA from his office phone. Where did he have a go at you at all?

Thanks for that! Kids with ‘attitude’ wasting forum space, when someone asks a sensible question, we can do without!

There’s no part of Albert Ross’ post that refers to you not contributing. He has simply said that he shouldn’t be contributing during working hours, not you!

Where was it moved to. Is it still at Gatwick or has it gone elsewhere.

Gatwick viewing terrace

I know the Herald G-CEXP was taken off the roof a few months ago and is now parked on the airfield alongside the Trident and wingless Comet. Does anybody know what has happened to the Comet nose in BOAC colours on the roof. Is it still there or has this now been moved.

I think the only good thing you’ll get in that bar now is a good pint . They might as well black out all the windows just so we cant see any aircraft.
Ive been going to LGW for over 20 years and I cant believe just whats happening to it, so this is progress is it?

Thanks I HAVE e.mailed them, but no response as yet!

Amazing, Heathrow Parking have e.mailed me back already and regret that the viewing terrace is still closed. Looks like this was(VERY) old information that they hadn’t updated. Sorry to have got everyone’s hopes up.

Thanks very much Kev! Why can’t all replies be positive. I may just pop round to Chris’ school and have a word with his teacher!
