Heeeeeeelp

Morning All.

Currently being driven crazy trying to ID the following helicopters. One real and one a mock-up (I think).

Can someone help please?

The first one is by either Atlas or Denel in South Africa, it was based on an Alouette III and was a proof of concept aircraft for the Rooivalk. The name escapes me at the moment but it is a real flyer.

The second one just looks daft!

Rooivalk proto-type, indeed.

Hi

Both were apparently constructed by Melve with parts left from the kit he bought to construct the Stirling and he turned into the Rewind – apparently he became disorientated whilst consuming one too many coffees at the airport Cafe and these are the result.

Thanks for the ID Papa Lima, very much appreciated.

Thanks to Manonthe fence I now have a lead, can anyone come up with a name/designation while I google?

Thanks all. I knew I liked this forum for a reason 🙂

The second one is the McDonnell XHJD-1 44318 from 1946, later redesignated XHJH-1

The first one looks like a movie lash-up attempting to simulate a Hind, but based on something more easily available in the West.

But looking at it again, perhaps not. I know little of eggbeaters so I’ll step back and let the knowledgable through.

The first one sort of looks like an Augusta A.129, could be a development model for this type.
