HELICOPTER CRASH SURVIVAL

I doubt if this is a new idea but, could parachute recovery systems and NASA Mars lander type air bags save the lives of helicopter crew?

I think this could be done by mounting the parachute on the rotor hub and by improving the emergency flotation gear currently in use.

What do you think? any other ideas?
