My parents are meant to fly into Newcastle on a Helios charter flight later tonight however they have just been informed in Larnaca Airport that there is an indefinite delay to their flight home. the pax have been bused to a hotel with overnight accomodation the reason being that Helios only have 3 of there 4 aircraft for flights. surely nearly a week after the tragic accident the airline would have wet or dry leased an aircraft in order to minimise disruption throughout their schedule.
on another Helios note, anyone know anything about the 738 that had an emergency landing in STN after departing LTN this week with “wing panel problems”???
needless to say, they arnt exactly looking forward to the flight back!
