Hello and a quick question

Hello all. My name is Ross and Im new to the forum. I think this is the best aviation forum Ive visited and Im glad to be a part of it.
Now I was just wondering, does anybody know how many airworthy Mustangs there are in the UK. I was thinking about this the other day and thought Id bring it up here.
As far as I can tell there are six –

TFCs – Miss Velma and Twilight Tear
OFMC – Ferocious Frankie
Pete Teichman – Jumpin Jacques
RAC – Susy
Woodchurch – Big Beautiful Doll

Anyone know of any others? As I said, just something I was pondering the other day

Thanks alot

Ross

Susie has been exported to Germany

Ah… one of my favourite Mustangs… that is a shame, I was hoping she’d stay in the UK. Wonder what Taff’s going to replace her with.

My thoughts to all at Breighton during this time.

Dean.

Apparently she is away for a ‘sympathetic restoration’

Does that mean Swedish colours again ? (* duck *)

Twilight Tear was the best Stang at the gathering looking lovely and original. Apparently she is away for a ‘sympathetic restoration’

When did Twilight Tear go to the USA? Because im pretty sure it is still listed on the Fighter Collections Website. I could be wrong though

It is still listed on their website as its still part of the collection – just not in the UK. Their front page shows some nice shots of TT flying at the the Gathering of Mustangs and Legends last month.

It went last month for the Mustang gathering and is then off for rebuild apparently. As far as I know TFC still own it.
