Hi all,
Last Wednesday (16th), as you can see from my signature, I flew out to Bangkok to spend a month in the sunshine. I arrived (eventually) after a flight with EVA Air, one which was nothing too special and nothing about it whatsoever would make me want to fly with them again.
To sum it up, we were on flight BR68 which operates to T’ai-pei in Taiwan via Bangkok in Thailand. The flight should have gone at 9.30pm and didn’t take to the skies until 10.34pm. Thanks to Chris (EAL_KING) for keeping me up to date with MSN on my mobile phone. He was telling me what time I could expect anything to happen.
No explanation or apology from the miserable crew on the flight, so wasn’t too pleased. To sum up quickly, the meals were acceptable – they tasted alright but presentation was appalling. The crew were not too friendly and the aircraft was slightly tatty. We had B-16409, a 747-400 Combi aircraft, where the last section of the aircraft is cargo.
Anyway, full report upon my return on the 14th or 15th April.
Next year we will certainly not be travelling with EVA. Thai Airways wins hands down with its superb service. However, next year, I’d like to give Qatar or Emirates a go, with Qatar Airways being the cheapest possible option – even cheaper than Phuket Air from Gatwick!
Speak to some of you soon..!
