Hi, Could anyone help me?
I´m thinking to buy one of the next machines, but I don´t have a good idea about it. I want to star my own “planespotter life”, and this is a great community and some people that knows one thing or two:D
Well, what machine you advise for star?
Sony Alpha 200 18-70mm+75-200
Sony Alpha 300 18-70mm +75-200
Sony Alpha 350 18-70mm
The price are between 500 to 600 euros…
Thanks for all…

More pixels is always better, cost being the drawback. If you go with the lesser pixel count try to go with a better (lower) f lens. If you are contemplating using a 2x adapter, check the recomended f stop rating, I know a lot of them recommend only low f lens (read expensive)!!

These were taken with my first proper use of the Alpha 350.

No,you wont notice much difference between 10 & 14mpix.I simply had a budget and went for the 350 because I already had several lenses.

Thanks, I was thinking the same… because 10 Mpx to 14 Mpx it isn´t so important, is it?

The 300 & 350 are very similar.I think if the price is right on the 300 pack thats the one to go for.I tried them all and they all fell solid and well built,so you dont have to worry it will serve you well for years to come.

I have recently bought a Sony Alpha 350 with 18-70mm.So far I have only used it at weddings cos I am waiting for my 170-500mm lens that I’ve ordered. It’s a relatively easy camera to use and the quality is top notch and I think that will improve with better lenses. Most people I know use Canon or Nikon and I was tempted to go for 1 of these my self as there is a far greater choice of lenses, however I’ve always had Minolta in the past and Sony use the same mount so I went with Sony so that I have 5 lenses without having to rebuy them all,and that was the deciding factor.I think whichever you choose you will be happy it depends on if you want to be paying more money for lenses or you want to stay with the lens supplied personally I’d go for a 2 lens package.
If you can find a deal with the 55-200mm lens simply add a 2x converter for greater focal length.Good luck and Best wishes

Steve
Thanks for your opinon…
But I want to know which of those are better suited for me… because I know that the best must be the 350, but the price of the “pack” alpha 300 it´s very temptative, and I don´t know if it´s a good camera for a couple of years…
