Help Guys

I’ve been trying to find schematic drawing of the Kiev class carriers, I need both top and side views if at all possible. I have been looking but coming up with nothing so maybe one of you might have something on file (MConrads)

Thanks anyway guys
Smooth Sailing and stay safe

Whoa, ok what happened here- anyone?

That was the crash of the Yak-141 on the Admiral Gorshkov in October 1991 while in a hover before touchdown.

I posted this video already a few weeks back (let me know if it doesn’t work for you):

Lev, Gol: guys thanks a heap, you have both given me exactly what I need, thank you both.

The next question is, could the Yak’s be lifted on the forward lift that was mainly used for the helos? One pic I have on Baku clearly shows the forward lift marked out for lifting two helos at once while the Yaks cam up on the slim, but long aft lift.

This all came about from watching a Youtube vidclip (the one I posted in the rare footage thread), it looks as if two yaks are coming up on a lift together, but to my knowledge, they never did that.

Gollevainen, you’ve just beaten me to it with the very same drawings which I found on this Ukrainian website recently!!;)

But if it’s worth anything to anyone there’s also a whole load of pictures from the same site – some of them quite detailed!

Also found a line drawing of the Moskva class ASW helicopter cruiser on the same website

Well I was merely kidding around, everyone is free to draw what they wish.

But for your actual request, I’ve seen that sort of cut-way drawing from the side of Kiev which shows reveals some of the comparaments but not from above. I try to dig it out…

Edit: here’s someting from fast sweep

Edit 2: I found few bigger and better images of Kiev and Baku but they are too large to be uploaded to here, so check out this link http://www.wunderwaffe.narod.ru/Magazine/MK/2004_04/Draw/index.htm

Orko: Mate thanks those are close to what I am looking for.

What I need actually is something like this…
http://www.powercorea.com/img/aircarrier_16DDH-diagram2.jpg
http://www.powercorea.com/img/aircarrier_16DDH-diagram3.jpg

These are actually DDH diagrams, but it gives you a clear understanding of what I am looking for, and if there is something like this around…

http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/images/SHIP_LHD_Canberra_Class_Concept_Cutaway_lg.gif

then I’d be one very happy chappy!!!

Gol: mate you are welcome to do what you need to do, as for my reasons, they are purely nothing along the lines of what you propose and i look forward to seeing your work mate.

just for general note, I’m planning to draw Baku (and Kiev as well) for the shipbucket in near future so thanks for the Kiev drawing from my part…and don’t dare to go and draw it before me:mad: 😡 ….:p 😀 😉

hehehe be my guest, I, for myself, don’t want to get my eyes melted while working on all those nasty details pixel by pixel (hats off to MConrads!). See, that’s why I love stealth design features in modern warships 😀 Smooth, clean, unobstructed lines, everything is hidden beneath doors and windows… “Shipbucket-friendly-ships” I may say 🙂
