Hi everyone, about 6 months ago I came into the attached air speed indicator. The guy who sold it had no idea what it was in so it barely cost me anything…
Unfortunately my inquisitive brain has determined to try and track down what this could have originally been fitted to and it seems there are lots of knowledgeable people on here that may be able to point me in the right direction!
It’s labelled “S Smith & Sons (England) Ltd” which I believe makes it post 1944/45 when they changed name?
I’ve attached photos from various angles, but I’ve tried Googling and I have found nothing!
Thanks in advance!

Hi again! I can’t work out how to send PMs on here but hopefully you can decipher my email address below (I’ve split it up to try and avoid bots scraping it!…)

The highest resolution that I have is 3372 x 2181. I also have some of the rest of that AP, especially the Auto Throttle parts. But it would be far to large to send in the post, PMs or as email attachments. I could do a file transfer but I’d need an email address to do a file transfer to.

That’s incredible info thank you Terry!
Do you know if it’s possible to get a hi res version of that? I’m planning to put it in a little display case with that as a background so would love to have a hi res printable version!

Hi Terry!
Thanks a lot for the quick response, as it would happen the Vulcan is mine/my mums and was my Grandads favourite aircraft of all time!
That has absolutely made my day!
Thank you!

Part of the Auto Throttle set up on the Vulcan B.Mk.2’s Auto Land system (and Victor B2 perhaps). I note that the serial number gives a clue that it was built in 1962.
