Can anyone help me identify these parts? And if so would you have an idea where to find them?
The following are of the same parts, from different camera angles:

The following pics are of a different set of parts, from different angles. I recognize the IC chips but the green “header blocks” and the pins are eluding me:

Thanks! 🙂

Actually,
This is my thread on that forum:

Can I ask what is it they’re mounted on/in (the orange colored back-ground?)

It definitely held tubes.
We found a similar part out of a radio but we don’t know what radio it actually came out of so we don’t have a lead to follow.
This is the part we found, that isn’t right..but similar:

By the way, I don’t know if folks have been following my article on my site but this is the panel I replicated (see pics of the original, above in the thread):

I think it’s a valve filter unit with a line up of valve holders. The metal cylinders will be screening cans for inductors. What it was used in I’ve no idea.

Looks like a tube board out of an amp or tv or a radio, the tube sockets are very much like

Indeed! 🙂

Looks like something from Tatooine 🙂

Are there any new ideas on this part?:

I think I know what one of the parts is, thanks to my friend Devin.
Part #1 in this photo:

I think it is a IDC ribbon cable connector:

Of course, after hours of searching I can’t find one that looks right.
Any ideas?

I’m still trying to figure these things out so I’m bumping this just in case someone recognizes something and can help.
I have begun scratch building some of the parts, since they are just going on a prop and don’t have to function but I’d still love to find the real deal.

Thanks Jim. I’m sure you’re right. I can get modern IC sockets and quads which I think will do the trick for those, although it would be cool to find vintage ones.
I’m still stumped on the other parts.
The part with the tube sockets, I’ve named a “rack” which we use on another prop that we make, called a Mouse droid. I scaled those down and have been making kits for them at 82% scale for several years, to fit on a certain RC car. Now I’m scaling them back up to 100% scale and scratch building the “rack” … it would sure be awesome to find the real deal though.

An empty 14 pin chip holder plus one complete with chip along with those transistors which may be Texas Instruments types.

A friendly bump … in case someone might have some idea on these parts 😉
thanks.

Rows of resistors, along with transistors… 1970s+ I would say. They should either have a set of colored bands (which give the resistance value) or a value printed on in numbers.
The similar-shaped components on the bottom of the tube assembly seem to have been painted over, and would be rather hard to determine component value for.

It’s very unlikely to be a radio – most likely to have some sort of digital based function.

Thanks James,
That information definitely gives me more directions to try, in figuring out what all these parts are. I am replicating a movie prop so they don’t have to function but the parts are pre-70’s for sure so figuring them out and locating them is quite the challenge.
I have replicated the “rack” (that’s what I call it) with the tube sockets but I would love to figure out what the real part is / was.

Hi
The white ceramic discs with the 7 off sockets are valve bases for a relatively modern valve type:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tube_sockethttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tube_socket
The bellows type object is probably a selenium rectifier:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selenium_rectifier
Anything with uF mfd pF written on it is probably a capacitor, especially if it also has a voltage rating such as 50V, 100V 150V, etc.
The Green blocks and the pins are one half of a connector, the funny V shaped tines are insulation displacement devices, this sort of connector is relatively modern though that example looks a little odd to me. It looks like you have taken off some protective covering off the latter items so these may be test connectors and only used during manufacture and thus not needing to be accessed in the field. The connector with the pins is probably for power.
http://www.mtarr.co.uk/courses/topics/0120_idc/index.html
The ‘tubes’ made of ceramic material with two electrical connections are likely to be high power resistors – these would get hot in operation and so need to be kept from touching other items.
Any soft and squishy components with two leads are also likely to be capacitors – this includes any with thin walled aluminium or even cardboard tubes.
The fact that there appear to be rows of identical sets of components indicates that the item either drives sets of lamps or is some sort of logic device based on a shift register but 7 is an odd number (excuse the pun). The lamps could have been simple numeric displays which often had 7 segments, though such displays were well passed the death of valves, the communist bloc countries continued to use valves which are simple to make and resistant to EMP (well they recover anyway). There is still quite a lot of valve based electronic equipment around today on older military stuff.
You could trace out the circuit and deduce what it does but not what it came from.
