RE: Help in project on music

I think Dimebag Darrel is really good, and that Pantera overall plays more hardcore metal than Metallica. His drawback I think is that he uses solidstate amps instead of tubes which though giving him a sharp, biting treble sound, is weak and brittle on the bass side which is really bad for hid chord intensive sound. Pantera last couple of albums though still intense are lacking melodically.Garry Moore is an example of someone who improves with age, his blues/rock albums are great. Some other guys who are good but unknown are Tony MacAlpine, I honestly consider him to be an equal to Satriani, not like all the Satriani wannabes like Steve Vai/Gary Hoi/Eric Johnson. Check out his album “freedom to fly”. Jason Becker was good but he died just as his career was taking off. He had a group called Cacaphony with Marty Freidman of Megadeth. The first album was a ripper, the second was disapointing and even copied guitare lines off the first album.

Is this… Spinal Tap?

Nigel:
“The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board. Eleven, eleven, eleven.”
Interviewer:
“Oh, I see, and mostly, the amps go up to ten?”
N:“Exactly.”
I:“Does that mean it’s louder? Is it any louder?”
N:“Well, it’s one louder, isn’t it?”
I:“One louder… Why don’t you just make ten louder, and make ten be the top number, and make that a little louder?”
N:“These go to eleven.”

Sorry… couldn’t help after seeing those pics. Perhaps any thought about Rammstein’s guitar duo Richard Kruspe and Paul Landers? I know all they do is bash power chords, but on a burning guitar it has a nice twist }>

RE: Help in project on music

Mustaine is no longer part of Megadeth, they have broken up as he got some sort of nerve damage to his arm. But he still gets my vote.

How about Bill Steer of Carcass?

RE: Help in project on music

Mustaine indeed was the first guitarist of Metallica. He was kicked out because of his drugs problems and replaced by Hammett. After that he founded Megadeth (still part of it today).

He was not the one that died in that bus crash. That was the bass player, Cliff Burton. He was replaced by Jason Newsted, who himself left a short time ago. Don’t know who will replace him.

Best regards,

Ference.

RE: Help in project on music

Yes…Randy Rhodes was killed by an idiot pilot. For me the best guitarist ever is Slash of Guns n Roses. I am not into Maiden much…but yes Murray is a great guitarist. Wasent Mustain the first guitarist of Mettalica who dies in Sweden in a bus accident???

RE: Help in project on music

Kirk Hammett is the lead guitarist of Metallica.

I have some other suggestions for great rock guitarist. I’m sure there are even more still.

Pic 1: Iron Maiden’s Janick Gers
Pic 2: Iron Maiden’s Adrian Smith
Pic 3: Iron Maiden’s Dave Murray
Pic 4: Megadeath’s Dave Mustaine
Pic 5: Megadeath’s Marty Friedman
Pic 6: Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page

Best regards,

Ference.

RE: Help in project on music

The coolest looking guy is definitely Zakk Wylde, but sheer for awe- inspiring talent there is only one, Randy Rhodes, that guy was a staggeringly talented musician, shame he was killed by an asshole pilot showing off.
