can someone perhaps tell me what kind of plane this is? I shot this picture at the “Musée de L’air et de L’espace” at Le Bourget. Unfortunetaly I can’t make out what it is and the information-plaque is unreadable.

Hmmmm,
Interesting. The guide to ‘Le Grande Gallerie’ doesn’t feature this Bleriot, so it’s been put in since the gallery opened – they have a Bleriot XI as on display listed which this isn’t.Acording to Ogden, they have a Bleriot IX (c/n ‘1’) , a Bleriot XI, (annon) two Bleriot XI-2, (c/n 686 and 878) and a Bleriot XXXVI (36! on c/n).
That’s as far as I’ll take it unless no-one else can help!
Cheers
Any one tells you they have a Bleriot IX you can tell them they’re lying. The only reason that the one he crossed the channel in was the XI was that he’d crashed and wrecked all the ones before. Not sure if it was the VI ord VII that he wrecked by running in to a hay rick due to underestimating the take off run required.
PS Good museum, isn’t it?
