Some unidentified parts for your advice and help.
The curvasious lump of aluminium is numbered.. 300729..and was descibed to me as a FW190 root cannon extrusion, possibly attached to the fusalage/wing stub. MMmmmmm…….
The undercarriage leg is marked AIR 10670?11, with a round stamp next to it bearing what looks like H on top , with VA below it.
The seat is marked AS2109 LMP.
Any help on one or all three would be really helpfull.

‘6A/780 is a Generator, Mk IV, for Mk IVA and Mk IVB Engine Speed Indicators’.
Could you tell me what age and possible aircraft fit?
Well, the generator is dated “/42”, so there’s your clue.
The electrically driven MK. IVA and IVB indicators were in widespread use during WW2, usually on multi-engined aircraft, where the need for extensive mechanical drives was done away with. The IVB indicator stayed in service long after the war, eg, the Hastings, Shackleton and many other types used them.

Did some of those parts come from the old GH Flowers yard at Chippenham? I recognise some of them. Got some pics somewhere of the piles of u/c legs – that was a sight.

The oleo in the first post is from an Oxford, it took a while but I found a photo of one in similar condition on Caw Fell at the crash site of AT486.

The big wireless looks like an early type R1155 which could be from a wartime bomber. It has been ‘improved’ by a radio amateur and some of the controls are missing but it could be restored to look right.
As Peter says the rest is 50s although the Beam Approach indicator (o, I , L & R) could also be from a wartime bomber.

Middle picture, not so much. looks more like 50s era? I can see at least one Lanc type instrument in the pile.

Any radio buffs about ?
I’m told this is WW11 bomber radio….. plus a few instruments.
Can anyone confirm ?

I seriously doubt the tank’s from a Dove, its for a hydraulic system and it looks too large for the one dedicated hydraulic system I know of on a Dove (ignoring the propellor pitch change which used the engine oil).
So what was the hydraulic powered system on (some) Doves?

Grip AC14210 is an early Lightning stick, I believe.
6A/780 is a Generator, Mk IV, for Mk IVA and Mk IVB Engine Speed Indicators.
The tank looks a bit Dove/Heron, but don’t quote me. I have something very similar out in the garage.

The undercarrige leg is definitly Sea Otter!
By: xtangomike - 18th December 2009 at 20:06
Another couple of items for your expert opinion.
The u/c leg is purported to be from an Otter amphibian (Port side)
The other a possible starter for Sea Hawk.

can you PM with a price old chap please?!
By: xtangomike - 18th December 2009 at 00:32
I think the leg is too light and small for a Blenheim. Something older..late 20’s to middle thirties perhaps….
The merlin part is available.
By: Rocketeer - 17th December 2009 at 23:52
The big old ally casting is a RR Merlin generator mount….the seat is as fitted to the likes of some Venoms, Piston Provost, etc..the leg is similar to a Blenheim
would like the Merlin part!!!
