Can anyone tell me if the Mk. 4E SG gunsight is a standard item, as i know the Wyvern S.4 used the Mk. 4E gunsight but i’m not sure if it differed in any way to one fitted to say a Hunter (stores ref 8B/2912).?!

I have a new boxed and unused MK4E GGS available and am looking for a MK4B GGS as a swap. The slightly earlier B variant was found in the Hornet/Sea Fury/Meteor.

From my notes I have the long spiggot (LG) is for fixed mounts only while short spiggot (SG) for retractable mountings only.

Thanks Jon. I have the chance of buying a Mk. 4E but don’t want to commit until sure its compatible with the Wyvern.!

Jon, what does the SG and LG stand for?
The length on the inbuilt bolt to attach it to the GGS mount I believe – S for Short and L for Long. Have seen LG’s cut down to fit, but dont worry about picking one up by mistake as they have different part numbers so easy to spot.

Bog standard as far as I am aware. If there was a difference then would have a different part number. Fitted to Sea Hawks as well for whats its worth 🙂 Also Meatbox’s – pretty sure they also use SG’s as opposed to LG’s.
