Help needed – Instrument Panel Mounts – Percival Proctor Mk1

Hello everybody

I am restoring a Percival Proctor and need some help tracking down a modern equivalent to the old vibration mounts for the instrument panel. I have attached a section from a drawing that gives an idea of what the mount looks like. The nut is 1/4 BSF. I have also attached a picture of the instrument panel frame so you can appreciate where they go. I need 5.

You could try you local boat chandlers/ hardware shop, they look a bit like the small engine vibration mounts.

…. What is a Classic Mini – is that the old one from the 1960’s….

Basically yes. Any mini made by Austin or Morris etc. Not a BMW mini from 2000 onwards.

Hello

Yes they certainly do look like a a substitute, I know of a Proctor restorer in England that is also looking for the same part so I have sent an email to Mike to let him know.

I might check out a if a similar item available for Mini’s in Australia. What is a Classic Mini – is that the old one from the 1960’s. I have a old Mini Cooper S in my hangar, might have a look under it at the exhaust.

Assuming that it might not be suitable, any other suggestions are welcome

Thanks

It looks pretty similar to a Mini Exhaust mounting rubber.

There’s a whole range of sizes here => http://www.vibration-mounts.co.uk/ShowCategory.php?CategoryID=CYLINDRICAL-BOBBINS-13

In most (modern and antique) gliders I work with, I find that these anti-vibration mounts are shelf parts used in industrial machines. Would that be a suitable direction for you to look into?
