I have come across two emblems on the Internet for I/JG52. The one which appears most often when using a search engine is the one in my second post. On the other hand, several websites indicate that this is the ‘later’ version of the I Gruppe emblem. However, I have several books with I/JG52 Me109 profiles in from the BoB period and they are all depicted with this emblem!
Does anyone know when the change over was made or started from one emblem to another?
Does anyone have any photos of 2/JG52 or I/JG52 Me109s from the BoB period showing the Gruppe or Staffel emblems?
Can anyone reccomend a good in-print book which illustrates all the Luftwaffe Bomber/Fighter Geshwader, Gruppe & Staffel emblems with the dates they were in use etc.?

Just had a quick look at Die Jagdfliegerverbände der Deutschen Luftwaffe (Teil 4/II) Einsatz am Kanal und über England 26.6.40 to 21.6.41 by Prien et al (end of the german, promise)
The section for 1/JG52 only shows the pig, saying its the Gruppen shield
It would appear that your first image came later
