Would anybody know where I could find these British made quick-releases as used on leather straps (see picture, just the metal wares would be perfect!) made around 1940/1950? I need three of these as they form part of the seatbase attachment in our T21 restoration project. We can make the leather ourselves. Experience tells us these parts were very probably from WW2 stock, but I do not know what they may have been used on… Measurements are in cm/mm in the picture…

Thanks for that Jeepman. Another new supplier (for me that is)!
Me and Gypsy 1 – we both recommended Paul Beck Vintage Supplies – useful for all those pre-war/old school parts you can’t find elsewhere like woven cotton trunking for wiring looms and rubber boots for rod operated brakes

I’m pretty sure ‘vintage supplies’ sell them. Used on tonneau covers and hoods on old cars.
here’s the page

That would be nice, Anon. We need them to keep the seatbases from floating off during negative G’s when flown solo.

That’s the ones. I learn something new everyday…

I’ve got some of those – somewhere, but I will need to check the size as I believe there were at least two different lengths.
They were used for years commonly for attaching the seat cushions to PSP shells on ejector seats, along with many other uses. It says “lift the dot” on it to enable the item to be disconnected easily as they are designed not to be pulled straight off. Other (non-aviation) uses are to attach the tonneau covers on soft-top cars and the covers on small trailers
I’ll check at the weekend and let you know.
Anon.

Not sure from your photo but Lift the dot fasteners?

as used on parachute pack inspection flaps and 1950/60 soft top hoods for sports cars
