Help needed to identify artefact

Can anyone help identify this bakelite control. Both parts fit together and were found amongst the wreckage of 106 Squadron Lancaster R5574 lost on 21 December 1942.

Could these be part of the aircrafts navigation or communications equipment?

Any help or advice will be most welcome.

Kind regards, Malcolm.

Hello Eddie/Smirky,

Thank you very much for the helpful replies. They are much appreciated.

I have looked at a few items of radio equipment but not found a similar control knob yet. Does anyone else have any further ideas?

Kind regards, Malcolm.

Hmm.., looks wireless. See how the scales go in opposite directions, I think if you add two pointers at the 12 and 6 o’clock you will get KC/s at the top and metres at the bottom. (one is 300,000 divided by the other).

Possibly from a TR9 radio?
