Hi would anyone no why the type B flying helmet would have no maker labels stitched into them,(also including the date of manufacture)
As I have just come across one having just the AM label with the reference 22c-65.but no maker label and date.
Would anyone no the date this type of helmet would of been issued from?

I concur, late 1940/41 Air Ministry ordered that labels be removed from flying helmets and other equipment, as captured equipment with addresses in them would give details of towns that would be “legitimate” military targets.

The last of the B Types (’41) tend to be without the makers name and address. Something to do with not advertising a potential bombing target if aircrew or their kit fell in to enemy hands
