Just confirming.

Had a look through my collection of Master pictures and found two that show that particular type of hub fitted.

Thank you for the confirmation and sparing the time to look it up. very much appreciated..
Thank you to all..

Dear All

Palmer 842B hubs certainly fitted to Miles Master II and Martinet.

I think that Anne has found it. There seem to be two types used on the Master with one being of a conventional four lobe cast type and the other of the type in question, having a more complex five lobe structure.

Anne, You may recall I once asked about a DH Pussmoth propeller. I’ve since found it to be off a Fox Moth.

John

The size suggests Miles Master/Martinet and it does appear to match one of the less common styles of wheels used on these aircraft.

Still no joy but have managed to get some numbers of the tyre and hub, some are very faint but here goes:

ON TYRE
Size 7.25 – 9 575 185

Make? Aeroplane
Ref 1ww12
2706B or 8

——————-

ON HUB

Circled i think (ET) also (M)
842BA
A233B5
DTD 255
DTD 1338

also what looks to be an identical wheel – Tyre on this site covering crashed relics from the Orkneys but unfortunately they have had little joy with its i.d. Towards the bottom of the page..
