Help! Tail-wheel tyre ID need…!

Hi all, I’m hoping someone out there can help me…

I have what appears to be a fairly elderly tail-wheel tyre, but I have no idea to which aircraft it would have originally been fitted. The markings are as follows:

On one side, reading clockwise:

“DUNLOP AEROPLANE”

“MADE UNDER D.R. Co.S PATENTS
LICENSE STRICTLY LIMITED
MADE IN ENGLAND”

(within circle): “REF No. WP11”
(around circle above): “ECTA” and “26841”

3.00 – 3 1/2

On the other side, reading clockwise:

“DUNLOP AEROPLANE”

(within rectangular stamp): “S15/7 CA1”

(within rectangular stamp): “51-A4151”

(within circle): “REF No. WP11”
(around circle above): “ECTA” and “26842”

3.00 – 3 1/2

Any help anyone can give is gratefully accepted!

Many thanks

The chances are that it will date back to WWII as the Magister was in service from 1937 until the war’s end (and a bit beyond perhaps).

The tyre also fits a Percival Proctor tail wheel.

Thanks for this – what sort of age are we talking about and are there any other aircraft that took this type of tyre? My sons (and I!) are nuts on WWII aircraft and wondered if it might be that old??

Most probably intended for a Miles Magister.
