The Tutor on the left, K3443 was allocated to 501 Sqn from 3 December 1935 until 11 October1939. So I think it could be Filton.

Hopes this helps,

The hangars are certainly the right type for Filton, being coupled General Service Sheds with a Belfast truss roof.
I believe they are still there.

I guess he was with 501 Sqn, which left Filton in November 1939 for Tangmere.

501 moved from Hawker Harts to Hurricanes in March 1939. Wikipedia states that 501 also used Avro Tutors for training from Jan 1936 to October 1939. That could certainly be the 501 hangar at Filton. Looking forward to seeing any more you may have!

If the dates are around 1938 to 1939 this might be Filton where my father was posted until November 1939 when he moved to Tangmere.

Monoplane is a Miles Magister, the biplanes are Avro Tutors. You can see flying examples of both at the Shuttleworth Trust, Old Warden.
(Sorry, just realised you are in Canada, but you could always plan a vacation!)

I would guess by the combination of pre-war ‘trainer yellow’ livery on the aeroplanes and hastily applied camouflage on the hangars, it can be dated as late 1938 or early 1939?

Those hangars appear familiar. I wonder if there is anyone else on the forum that can more positively identify them? Central Flying School at Upavon perhaps?

Looks like a couple of Avro Tutors and a Miles Magister.
