Help With A Name Please

Hi all,
Wondering if anybody can help me here.
Trying to find out who was flying Spitfire (Mk Vb), AR403 of 65 Squardon when she crashed in The Scottish Borders on 23 September, 1942.
Any picture of this aircraft or pilot info would be greatly appreciated.

Regarding this pilot Malcolm Eric Edward Roberston. Where would no. 4 EFTS have been. By this I mean which station and which country. And also the same question for 3 FTS.

I am doing a little research for a relative of this airman.

Can anyone confirm what Att Duston 1-4 August means.
I think it may mean Ouston which was the base where 243 sqn was based at the time. I could be wrong as why would he be attached to the station?

Any other help or information on this pilot would be helpful.

According to the ORB, in Kew, it was Sergeant Robertson; gives his service no. as 413490, but that’s close enough for government work.

Take a look at this search database for the CWGC.

http://www.hut-six.co.uk/cgi-bin/search39-47.php

You can search for an entry by date but when I did this I couldnt find a suitable entry.

Looks like the chap you are looking for survived or bailed out. Maybe the accident record would help with details if it exists.

Maybe he survived the accident for a few days which would have meant he died much later.

I am thinking unless someone here knows the incident that the official records will hold the answer.
