Help with I.D. Avro Anson part Please

Hello can anyone help me to I.D. this Avro Anson part the type is a 652A, the panel itself is around 2 and a half foot long, and around 2 inches in depth. it does appear to be some sort of opening panel as on one side there is a bracket that has a tightening type fitting, that once opened it can be secured into place, this is it seems attached to a wooden part of the Aicraft.
There are 2 stamps that i can make out as being 418 circled and another number reading 6018. Any Ideas?

Also notice about halfway across the indent, where i would say the aerial mask would of hit the wind deflector on impact.
Again a SHAME I.D. of this Anson has been lost, unless anyone can narrow down the Airacaft manufacture, I.E. The Date was 14/5/39 as there hopefully cant of been to many made within that month, also taking in how many would of crashed.Other details i have read as follows on an I.D. plate

AW ROE AND COE LTD
MANCHESTER AND HAMBLE
AVRO TYPE 652A
DWG NO 350D155613
SERIAL NO R3/LW 24052
CAPACITY
INSPECTION
MAKER NO
DATE 14/5/39 MANY THANKS

From a Chief engineer on an anson restoration here in canada..

“It’s a wind deflector off of the hatch just behind the cockpit. The hatch swings inward and was mounted on the top of the fuselage in-between the parachute storage bins. The deflector keeps the wind out when hatch is open. Based on the color it’s off of a mark I”

Thanks for your reply’s,
Deryck i would be very interested in seeing the photos if possible, i was told by someone that it could be some kind of window panel for letting air into the cockpit. which would make your description very similar. Cheers Brad.

The Canadian built Mark II Anson had wind deflectors just forward of some of the inward opening windows. Presumably the navigators-in-training opened the windows to get a clearer view.

I may have some pictures someplace.
