I’m looking at possibly catching a connecting flight via Helsinki in August where I would have a 15 hour layover. Does anybody have any information on this airport, in terms of: 1) How far it is from downtown, 2) Is there a train/bus that is easily accessible to the downtown area, 3) Are there any decent spots to hang out at once I get downtown, 4) Are there any decent spotting locations around the airport, 5) And finally, what is there weather like in late August? Any information would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Oh, and as for weather – Helsinki in summer, like late August, has similar weather to Britain… monthly average temperature around 15 degrees (that´s averaged over day and night, fair and foul weather) and quite more rain than, say, in June.

About 15 km or so.
2) Is there a train/bus that is easily accessible to the downtown area,
No train (and not expected nearby for several years), but buses go comfortably to city centre.
