Hendon Yesterday.

A few shots from the RAF Museuem.

There is still quite a lot of activity among the exhibits within the Bomber Command hall, the Fairey Battle fuselage has left for the Medway Aircraft Preservation team although the wings and many other smaller items await shipment.

The Sabre, Buccaneer cockpit section look as though there off to Cosford, does anyone know whats happening with the Dakota cockpit section. The Liberator looks superb in its new surroundings, although access is still limited to this part of the museum.

True to form the WWI section is still closed.

More to follow later.

Ollie – It looks like they are taking it apart – is it going to Cosford by any chance?

Peter,

The parts scattered by the B17 are from the Fairey Battle, the fuselage is now with the Medway Aircraft Preservation Society at Rochester airport, I’m guessing that the wings and other bits and peices will follow on.

Whats with all the parts scattered round near the b17?

They look like bits of Battle to me. Being dismantled for the trip down to sunny Rochester, I’d guess.

Great update Pictures Mr Brown, thanks for sharing.

Looks a bit like a Bucc coming through the wall, and a Dak through the floor. Some woodworm!

Cheers

How come the Battle is going to Medway? Interesting to see the Dak cockpit too

..’cos the Medway A/C Preservation Society have a proven track record of working (authentic) miracles.

They are currently working on the C-47 nose for (ex-‘Dakotas’, Malta etc) Hendon, of which there was a recent article in Flypast.

Also, the Battle move was in Flypast news pages recently.

Do you get Flypast Rob ?
