Heston Phoenix G-AESV

In Arthur Ord-Hume’s British Light Aeroplanes the extinction of the type is recorded thus, ” One survived and flew extensively until a forced landing in the French Alps in 1952 left the aircraft undamaged but totally inacessible “.

Where exactly was this? Do any photos exist of G-AESV in it’s last resting place? Are there any remains there? If not, what did become of the aircraft?

Today, it would not be too much of a problem: call in the heavy lift helicopter. Well in fact, would not really need “heavy lift” capability. The Phoenix weighed in at 3300 lbs AUW.
