HHA Buccaneer

HHA has gained CAA Approval to Operate their Buccaneer Aircraft in the Complex Category on the UK Civil Register

HHA were today granted approval by the Civil Aviation Authority Management Committee to operate their BAe Buccaneer Aircraft (G-HHAA / XX885) on the UK civil register. This is the culmination of almost five years worth of effort and in excess of 3250 man hours of design verification work. This does not include any engineering work on the aircraft at all! As such it will be the first Complex category aircraft to fly in UK airspace and is a testament to the excellence of the HHA engineering and operational team. Major overhaul work and lifed component replacement on the aircraft will commence shortly, with a first flight target currently envisaged for 2006.

Sorry I was talking about the Hunters with regards to 2006 airshows, it would be nice to one displaying at Waddo like they did in 2004.

I would like to come to the open day in May, but have other commitments, hopefully
there will be another event later in the year.

Bucc back to flight, who knows maybe the authorities will soften up and let a Lightning fly ๐Ÿ˜ฎ .

John.

Ask the CAA ๐Ÿ˜‰

So can not wait to see a Bucc fly in the UK skies again.

Morning all,

FMK.6JOHN

I’m sure my dad might have taken pictures of it, being another Immingham resident, will ask him when I see him later this week.

Cheers

Tim

Thanks Tim, Scampton not far from me so hopefully the next year will be an aviation milestone………Two new hangers at Duxford/Cosford, XH558 (fingers very crossed!), Bucc back to flight, who knows maybe the authorities will soften up and let a Lightning fly ๐Ÿ˜ฎ .

Regards,

John.

Andrewman – HHA have two commitments for May. we are supporting the RAF Coningsby Families day on the 20th May and also appearing at Duxford on the 21st May. Airshow booking confirmations don’t usual come in until end May at best so can’t give you any more info at this time. If you want to see more and get information at first hand you could always attend our Open Day on the 20th or join the Hunterteam Club, see the air scene uk article for details.

HHA – have you decided what airshows you are going to be at this year and if so could
you tell us which ones please ?

If you read the article……

First flight is unlikely to be until 2007.
Airshow participation is dependant on support from organisers (Operators don’t generally have the luxury to pick and choose!).

Kind words gents, thank you, it is an inspiration to maintain our tenacity in this project knowing that so many people are behind us..
VX927 – We have a total of 12 hunter frames on the inventory 10 of which are maintained in ready or near ready state for flight. The two that were making all the noise at the weekend were undergoing their post maintenance performance check runs. We will only make an aircraft fully ready for flight once we have work for it. The expense of insuring an aircraft for flight plus the overhaul costs of time lifed components does not make good business sense to have the whole fleet ready to go. Those two aircraft and one other will be fully flight cleared for this year with others to be generated depending on tasking requirements.
CKing – I agree it was an excellent article by Gary who works tirelessly to keep his well informed and well constructed site running, mainly through his own dedication and with little or no financial support. It is true that the article did only skim the surface of the depth of work and research that had to be undertaken to get the approval from the CAA but with space and time constraints Gary covered all the salient points and produced an informative and accurate description of events. We are eager to see her fly too and on that day I feel all the difficulties and hard work will fade into memory.

An excellant artical that proberbly only skimms over the hard work that HHA have done to get this far. It should be required reading for anybody who says “Why can’t we have a flying Vulcan/Lightning/Phantom etc etc.” I wish them well in their endevors and look forwad to seeing the Bucc fly.

The article states that the airframe was road moved from the port of Immingham, Has anyone got any pics they could post? it would be interesting too see as ‘Ming’ used to be an old haunt of mine!.

I used to have about twenty images on my old PC before it blew up, I’ll have a dig around to see if I can find any prints that I can scan in.
